IT Setup (2010)

On site preparation

Arrange to meet Sebastion (Dorney IT support) on Friday or Saturday before the event for setup, which includes:

Kit

Get the kit out of storage

Belongs to WRC    
Bar Code Scanners 3 2 for use in registration, one spare , retained by David/Brian for testing
Access Points 2

1 set for finish tower roof
1 set by results tent
(there is also a spare AP)

Pigtails, mains adaptors 2
Directional aerials 2
Sundry U bolts and fitting bits    
Power cables lots  
Telephone extension cables 3 for the timing huts
Ethernet cables lots-
at least
1 x 5m,
4 x 3m
long ones needed at the start, and registration (x3?)
and maybe the Finish tower Tower depending on how close the sockets are.
USB/serial cable 1 in case display is used
Plus (personal kit)
Telephones 6 for the timing huts (3), start, registration and finish tower (2)
Hubs 2 At least two needed for registration
Makeshift mast   for results side
Hammer - to bash the mast in    
Spanner size 10   for aerial bolts
Big Screwdriver   to open cabinet on finish tower roof in case you can't get hold of the key
Gaffer tape    
Cable ties    
Velcro grip tape   for attaching the masts/aerials
Binoculars   For use at start of time trials
Needed at Dorney
Key to Green Cabinets at start and under each pod  

You will need to ask Adam for these, and sign for them.
Also, makes sure someone will have keys to Finish Tower.

In 2010 all the pods are left open - not so in earlier years when you needed to sign for the pod keys.

Wireless Network configuration

(remember to use a short extension lead becasue the AP power adaptor won't fit directly into the sockets in the roof cabinet)

As done in 2009 and 2010.

AP41 and AP42 are configured to talk to each other in point to point mode.

Each has the others MAC address (see back of AP) configured.

Additional settings for AP41 and AP42

To change the configuration

Access                        192.168.2.nn, where nn is 41 or 42
login:                           admin/password

To reset

Press reset button
                                      <4 secs for reboot, 
                                      >4secs for factory reset.
Access                        192.168.0.10 (factory default IP address)
login:                           admin/password
