Timing and results entry

Recording times

At each timing point you need to record position and time.

• Position is the sequence of lane numbers as the crews pass (eg 4,3,5,2,1)
• Time is recorded using the timing device. This device shows the time in hours minutes and seconds since all the timing devices were synchronised at the start of the day. Please make sure you know how to use this device.

Record times as a 6 digit number
e.g. 42 29 75 (42 mins 29 secs 75 hundredth)
and 06 04 12 (6 mins 4 seconds 12 hundredth).

More on entering times

Ignore the hour.
Formats accepted are mss, mmss, mssdd, mmssdd 
You can use separators m:ss, mm:ss, m:ss:dd, mm:ss:dd
Valid separators, in addition to the colon, are: fullstop, comma, semi-colon or slash(/)

We recommend that you enter six digits (mins, secs and hundredth of sec) without separators and with a leading zero, if the minute is less than ten.

e.g. 422975 (42 mins 29 secs 75 hundredth)

Use TAB to move to the next cell in down the column.

The screen defaults to stopwatch time. When you CONFIRM it changes to race time, and checks that the finish times make sense.

Green ticks are good. If you see a red cross then check the input.

Click the STOPWATCH button to enter more times, or correct existing ones. Click RACE TIMES to check, and CONFIRM to confirm.

Pressing NEXT or PREVIOUS will automatically CONFIRM your input, but make sure you have a full set of green ticks before moving away.

If cells are greyed out, data input is not possible. Check that you are in Stopwatch time mode. Alternativelly cells will be greyed out if the crew has scratched or hasn't registered. A cell will be pink as a warning that the database has not been updated until you press CONFIRM, or NEXT or PREVIOUS.
